Giving every client conversation the attention it deserves

Debt advice conversations are rarely straightforward. Clients may be navigating financial pressure, housing concerns, health problems or other personal circumstances, often sharing information that can be difficult or emotional to discuss.

For advisers, capturing everything accurately while remaining present in the conversation creates a significant challenge. Writing up detailed case notes afterwards also takes valuable time and adds to the mental burden of supporting people through complex situations.

At Crosslight, the combination of staff and volunteers brought an additional consideration: ensuring case records remained clear and consistent across a large, varied team.

The organisation wanted to reduce the time spent documenting conversations without compromising the quality of its records or the human judgement at the heart of its service.

The goal was simple: less administrative pressure, more consistent case notes and more time and headspace for supporting people.

Adapting when implementation challenges emerged

When unexpected telephony integration challenges arose, Wyser adapted the approach by introducing Microsoft Teams integration.

This allowed the project to continue without disrupting frontline services and gave Crosslight a practical route to introducing AI-assisted documentation within its existing technology environment.

The implementation also revealed an additional benefit: Wyser successfully supported interpreter-led and multilingual conversations, producing clear English summaries that advisers could review and use.

More consistent records across staff and volunteers

The use of bespoke templates also helped create a more consistent approach to case documentation across Crosslight’s teams.

Clearer, more structured records support continuity when cases are reviewed or picked up by another adviser, while giving managers greater confidence in the quality and completeness of the information being recorded.

For the wider organisation, this creates stronger foundations for governance, quality assurance and consistent service delivery across multiple locations.

Built with advisers, not around assumptions

Crosslight’s rollout demonstrated the importance of introducing AI in a way that reflects how frontline teams actually work.

By developing templates collaboratively, adapting to technical challenges and keeping advisers in control of every record, the project supported adoption without compromising the principles that underpin high-quality advice.

The result is a more practical, adviser-led approach to documentation: technology that reduces administrative burden while leaving human understanding and professional judgement exactly where they belong.

Supporting advisers where it matters most

Crosslight’s experience shows how thoughtfully implemented AI can strengthen frontline advice without replacing the people who provide it.

By making documentation faster, more consistent and less mentally demanding, Wyser gives advisers more capacity to focus on what matters most: helping people move forward.
